T1D Stories

Share your experience.

T1D Stories is a PatientStories pilot supporting books under research by Steve Ponder, Joe Solowiejczyk, and potentially new authors. The purpose is to learn what living with type 1 diabetes is actually like today: how people manage, what they watch, what they change, what they trust, what technology handles, what they override, and how diabetes affects emotions, relationships, family life, confidence, independence, work, school, and daily life.

Tell us what real life has taught you.

You do not need to answer every optional question. Share only what you are comfortable sharing. This is lived-experience feedback, not medical care or a place for urgent medical questions.

This can be about managing glucose, using insulin or technology, food or activity — or about fear, confidence, relationships, family life, school, work, independence, identity, burnout, and simply learning how to live with diabetes.

Tell us what you actually pay attention to and how you make the decision. That might include glucose direction, insulin, food, activity, stress, sleep, illness, prior experience, technology, other people, or how confident, worried, tired, or frustrated you feel in the moment.

Think as broadly as you like: emotional burden, social situations, family dynamics, growing up, independence, work or school, relationships with clinicians, data overload, feeling judged or misunderstood, resilience, or anything else that matters but rarely shows up in the numbers.
